Easy Barbequed Spareribs

This delicious recipe is easy on the cook and creates super moist and tender spareribs. These ribs are cooked slowly, covered, at a low temperature with indirect heat from the oven and they come out of the oven to perfection. Once tried you'll be hooked... Enjoy!

 

 

Easy Barbequed Spareribs

Ingredients:

  • 3 - 4 pounds pork spareribs

  • ¾ cup water

  • ¾ cup catsup

  • 2 tablespoons vinegar

  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tablespoon paprika, smokey or regular

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powdered or granulates

  • 1 teaspoon onion powdered or granulates, optional

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste

  • ½ teaspoon salt, or to taste

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, optional

  • 2 onions, chopped

  • 2 green bell peppers, chopped, optional

Method:

  1. Arrange ribs in a covered roasting pan.

  2. Combine all ingredients, except chopped onion and chopped green pepper, if using. Mix the liquid and spices well and pour in roasting pan.

  3. Layer chopped onions and green bell peppers evenly over the top.

  4. Cover and bake at 3:25 degrees F for 2 hours, or until very tender.

  5. Baste and turn ribs once or twice, or as desired.

  6. Uncover for the last 30 minutes for browning.

  7. Once completely cooked and ready to serve, ribs can also be given a quick grilling or just enjoy them straight from the roasting pan, either way, this is an easy, delicious recipe.

  8. Serve with a side of either prepared barbeque sauce or the roasting juices mixed with barbeque sauce.

  9. Makes 6 servings.
